Plot:

What if damnation is the price of true love?

Innocent blood has been spilled on the steps of the Council Hall, the sacred stronghold of the Shadowhunters. Their society now teeters on the brink of civil war. One fragment of the Blackthorn family flees to Los Angeles, seeking to discover the source of the disease that is destroying the race of warlocks. Meanwhile, Julian and Emma take desperate measures to put their forbidden love aside and undertake a perilous mission to Faerie to retrieve the Black Volume of the Dead. What they find there is a secret that may tear the Shadow World asunder and open a dark path into a future they could never have imagined. Caught in a race against time, Emma and Julian must save the world of the Shadowhunters before a deadly curse destroys them and everyone they love.

                    Conclusion:

I waited for this book for soooooo long! I think this might be the biggest book I've read in two days.
Queen of Air and Darkness is also one of my highlights in 2018.

QoAaD picks up immediately after what happened in Lord of Shadows and it might be one of the darkest Shadowhunter books ever.
This story had so much tension, action and I just could not put it down. I really enjoyed the family dynamics this book had. I love how diverse the characters are, not only ethnically but also their sexual orientations. Queen of Air and Darkness was a great ending to another Shadowhunter series by Cassandra Clare.

The illustrations in the Waterstones edition are so freaking gorgeous. (I'm not sure if the other editions have any illustrations though)
